Product Description

91 Points - "(aged in a combination of concrete vats and used French oak barrels for eight months): Vivid ruby. The pungent nose is redolent of smoke-accented dark berries, candied violet and a hint of lively white pepper. Vibrant, sappy blackberry and cassis flavors develop and take on weight in the glass. Energetic and focused on the finish, with lingering suave floral and dark berry liqueur." - Vinous Media, Jan 2016

Luis Seabra and Jonatan Garcia refer to their 7 Fuentes as their village wine. The name is a reference to the seven areas (broken down into 35 plots) in the DO of Valle de la Orotava, where they source the grapes for this cuvée. With a high percentage of old vines, it is a tremendous value and an exceptional introduction to the volcanic terroir found on the slopes of the very active volcano, Teide. Mostly comprised of native varietals Listán Negro with a small amount of Tintilla, it is fermented in small stainless steel tanks and concrete vats by indigenous yeast with a short, gentle maceration. About 40% of the cuvée is aged in neutral 500L French oak demi-muids with the remainder resting in concrete.
