"Shows a light piney hint before bright chamomile and honeysuckle aromas fill in. Rather nervy through the palate, featuring a finish of green almond and fennel notes. Distinctive, but will have select appeal. Drink now. 3,000 cases made." - JM, Wine Spectator (web only 2014)
A Manzanilla Fina, averaging four to five years and matured in a solera of eight scales, this dry and light sherry comes from Bodegas La Cigarrera, a small, family-owned bodega in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. It was founded in 1758 and in 1997 they started to bottle their own wines. Each year they produce around 11.000 cases of Manzanilla La Cigarrera, which is named after the women who used to sell cigarettes on the streets, on behalf of the big cigarette factories in Cadiz and Sevilla.
